Congleton Link Road Project

Congleton, Cheshire

Start Date: December 2019

End Date: Ongoing

Value: £500,000

Project Scope:

Construction of a new single two-lane road around the north and west of Congleton, linking the A534 Sandbach Road to the A536 Macclesfield Road. Connections will be provided to the A54 Holmes Chapel Road, A34 Manchester Road, Back Lane and a new link road to Congleton Business Park. A total of six new junctions will be built.

The road is intended to alleviate congestion in Congleton and is effectively a bypass for the town, but is also intended to open up new development sites to the north of the town. The project involves a number of new road bridges and water crossings.

A third party was originally awarded the contract but failed to deliver to an acceptable standard. ACE was contacted with urgency to attend site. In two days we were able to have our RAMS and Design drawings approved.

The project offers a spectrum of scaffolding types. Operated on day work, the large items are priced separately, and we have three men on-site at all times to assist the project team.

Specific noted Scaffolds

  • Independent Scaffold for new build bridge parapets
  • Edge protection placed with formwork to aid lifting bridge sections
  • System Stair Towers
